Mid-Session: Sensex up; Nifty back above 26,100

Indian equity benchmark indices were trading higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Infosys Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. IndusInd Bank Ltd. and HCL Technologies Ltd. among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85355.3 up by 425.94 points or by 0.5 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26137.55 up by 171.15 points or by 0.66 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85467.39 and intraday low of 85145.86 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26154.45 and intraday low of 26047.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1681.00,+2.53%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2140.25,+2.10%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1644.50,+1.96%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 859.50,+1.77%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1667.00,+1.49%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 973.70,-0.66%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2152.00,-0.35%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2791.60,-0.26%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 985.35,-0.06%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5146.05,-0.06%), among others.



TECk index was at 19075.63 up by 325.61 points or by 1.74%. Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 6548.10,+2.97%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 272.15,+2.95%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1680.10,+2.47%), Network18 Media & Investments Ltd. (Rs. 42.89,+2.41%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2139.00,+2.04%),.



CDS index was at 60355.15 down by 14.84 points or by 0.02%. Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 13107.55,-1.20%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1764.45,-0.99%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4503 , shares advanced were 2907 while 1372 shares declined and 224 were unchanged.
