Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty climbed close to 1 per cent on Monday, buoyed by sustained foreign fund inflows and a strong rally across global markets. Investor sentiment remained upbeat amid growing expectations of further monetary policy easing by the Federal Reserve.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 85567.48 up by 638.12 points or by 0.75 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26172.4 up by 206 points or by 0.79 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 85601.33 and intraday low of 85145.86 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26180.7 and intraday low of 26047.8
