Sensex down 340 pts; Nifty below 26k

Indian benchmark indices extended losses as IT realty, and financial services shares weighed.



At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84708.71 down by -332.74 points or by -0.39 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25948 down by -94.3 points or by -0.36 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85250 and intraday low of 84650.12 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26106.8 and intraday low of 25924.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 171.90,+1.63%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2777.85,+1.15%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 325.20,+0.35%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 282.50,+0.32%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5086.00,+0.28%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1453.90,-2.24%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 260.10,-2.03%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1628.05,-1.99%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 840.05,-1.25%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2085.00,-0.98%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 27947.43 up by 12.02 points or by 0.04%. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 161.65,+1.00%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 471.60,+0.84%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 369.15,+0.82%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 404.80,+0.51%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 193.90,+0.13%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4653 , shares advanced were 1583 while 2862 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
