Sensex down 354 points; NSE Nifty at 26254.65

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading on optimistic note as steady buying by domestic institutional investors and a rally in blue-chip Reliance Industries drove the stock markets higher in early trade.



At 10:28 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85542.84 up by 354.24 points or by 0.42 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26254.65 up by 108.1 points or by 0.41 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85605.55 and intraday low of 85068.88 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26272.85 and intraday low of 26118.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 987.05,+1.53%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 340.95,+1.38%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 902.00,+1.31%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 287.35,+1.30%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16929.05,+1.28%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 351.00,-3.56%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4022.95,-0.63%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11855.00,-0.35%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1290.95,-0.29%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1602.85,-0.26%), among others.



Realty index was at 6940.11 up by 76.25 points or by 1.11%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1730.00,+2.18%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 705.65,+2.02%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2043.00,+1.30%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 558.10,+1.02%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1081.45,+0.81%),.



FMCG index was at 19556.15 down by -185.83 points or by -0.94%. ITC Ltd. (Rs. 351.00,-3.56%), Radico Khaitan Ltd. (Rs. 3188.30,-2.03%), Zydus Wellness Ltd. (Rs. 456.40,-1.91%), VST Industries Ltd. (Rs. 251.50,-1.43%), Kaveri Seed Company Ltd. (Rs. 962.75,-1.43%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3906 , shares advanced were 2415 while 1294 shares declined and 197 were unchanged.
