Mid-Session: Sensex up 487 pts, Nifty at 26,300

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index index heavyweights including NTPC Ltd.Bajaj Finance Ltd. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85676.44 up by 487.84 points or by 0.57 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26297.85 up by 151.3 points or by 0.58 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85706.49 and intraday low of 85068.88 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26301.1 and intraday low of 26118.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 347.95,+3.46%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 990.55,+1.89%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16961.75,+1.48%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 270.20,+1.26%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2350.00,+1.16%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 350.00,-3.83%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1283.10,-0.90%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2101.55,-0.41%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1272.80,-0.12%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4045.00,-0.09%), among others.



Power index was at 6684.88 up by 107.75 points or by 1.64%. Torrent Power Ltd. (Rs. 1392.50,+4.90%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 347.95,+3.46%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 54.16,+3.18%), NHPC Ltd. (Rs. 81.79,+2.61%), JSW Energy Ltd. (Rs. 513.95,+2.40%),.



FMCG index was at 19534.63 down by -207.35 points or by -1.05%. Radico Khaitan Ltd. (Rs. 3119.05,-4.15%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 350.00,-3.83%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (Rs. 1182.00,-2.57%), United Spirits Ltd. (Rs. 1376.50,-2.00%), VST Industries Ltd. (Rs. 250.60,-1.78%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4337 , shares advanced were 2712 while 1420 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.
