Sensex down 434 pts; RIL, ITC top losers

Indian benchmark indices continued to extend losses during the late noon session as tariff fears and volatility amid NSE Nity weekly expires weighed on investors' sentiment.



At 14:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85004.81 down by -434.81 points or by -0.51 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26149.7 down by -100.6 points or by -0.38 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85397.78 and intraday low of 84900.1 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26273.95 and intraday low of 26124.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1410.20,+2.83%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 914.50,+1.67%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1758.40,+1.63%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2421.00,+1.56%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1019.05,+1.36%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1507.00,-4.47%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 342.20,-2.14%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2149.85,-1.87%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5016.60,-1.66%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 961.70,-1.64%), among others.



HCS index was at 44542.95 up by 555.49 points or by 1.26%. Bliss GVS Pharma Ltd. (Rs. 176.60,+10.00%), Suven Life Sciences Ltd. (Rs. 171.15,+5.78%), Strides Pharma Science Ltd. (Rs. 991.45,+4.28%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 6627.00,+4.15%), KMC Speciality Hospitals (India) Ltd. (Rs. 90.21,+3.98%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 28234.98 down by -333.97 points or by -1.17%. Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1507.00,-4.47%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4486 , shares advanced were 1701 while 2577 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
