Sensex, Nifty choppy; realty, banks, pharma stocks in red

Indian equity markets witnessed sharp volatility on Friday, following their steepest decline in a month a day earlier, triggered by concerns over potential US tariff actions.

At 9:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84121.44 down by -59.52 points or by -0.07 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25894.05 up by 17.2 points or by 0.07 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84406.22 and intraday low of 84019.5 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25940.6 and intraday low of 25818.35



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 290.90,+2.61%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2826.00,+1.41%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1666.25,+1.10%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 981.00,+0.95%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4059.95,+0.79%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1413.25,-1.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1445.80,-1.29%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 340.60,-1.02%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1748.90,-0.71%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4871.20,-0.68%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 27359.21 up by 236.56 points or by 0.87%. Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 293.75,+3.62%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 423.60,+3.38%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 235.50,+1.75%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 357.00,+0.68%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 164.55,+0.67%),.





Realty index was at 6856.18 down by -105.6 points or by -1.52%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2024.55,-3.21%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1523.00,-2.90%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1065.00,-2.19%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 681.10,-1.62%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1562.20,-1.60%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3688 , shares advanced were 1461 while 2034 shares declined and 193 were unchanged.
