Sensex, Nifty in red on foreign fund outflows, trade-related concerns

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to trade lower on Monday as persistent foreign fund outflows, concerns over further US tariffs on Indian exports and geopolitical overhangs dent investors' sentiment.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83145.94 down by -430.3 points or by -0.51 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25570.95 down by -112.35 points or by -0.44 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83617.53 and intraday low of 83043.45 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25700.95 and intraday low of 25529.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 180.25,+1.09%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 339.15,+0.92%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 886.85,+0.54%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2836.65,+0.43%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1406.65,+0.22%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 943.30,-1.80%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 279.85,-1.60%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3621.75,-1.50%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1416.90,-1.31%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3975.65,-1.27%), among others.



Metal index was at 36787.91 up by 179.27 points or by 0.49%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 626.30,+3.19%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 430.50,+2.88%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 625.05,+2.48%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 354.00,+1.72%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 180.25,+1.09%),.



Realty index was at 6701.45 down by -105.58 points or by -1.55%. Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1517.70,-2.91%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 654.65,-2.48%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1950.55,-2.13%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1527.80,-1.87%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 540.95,-1.81%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4216 , shares advanced were 1101 while 2875 shares declined and 240 were unchanged.
