Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty firm; Eternal, PGCIL top gainers

Indian equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty traded higher on Wednesday, buoyed by positive sentiment surrounding the finalisation of the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and supportive global cues.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82111.31 up by 253.83 points or by 0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25265.1 up by 89.7 points or by 0.36 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82503.97 and intraday low of 81887.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25372.1 and intraday low of 25225.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 263.10,+3.77%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 258.60,+1.65%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1382.90,+1.37%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 927.35,+1.35%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12761.00,+1.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2508.35,-4.44%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 14960.25,-1.84%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1653.20,-1.79%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2360.00,-1.68%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1284.10,-1.49%), among others.



CGS index was at 64425.99 up by 2145.73 points or by 3.45%. Data Patterns (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2553.00,+11.10%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 576.25,+8.44%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 2345.80,+7.38%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 5050.85,+7.30%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 2895.20,+6.01%),.



CDS index was at 55513.22 down by -666.63 points or by -1.19%. Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2508.35,-4.44%), Berger Paints (India) Ltd. (Rs. 483.80,-2.33%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1654.80,-0.72%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3972.50,-0.61%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 367.20,-0.51%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4367 , shares advanced were 2846 while 1337 shares declined and 184 were unchanged.
