Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rallied for the second straight session on Wednesday, propelled by buying in industrial, energy and metal stocks amid renewed optimism on the global trade front following the landmark India-EU FTA.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82344.68 up by 487.2 points or by 0.6 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25342.75 up by 167.35 points or by 0.66 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82503.97 and intraday low of 81814.75 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25372.1 and intraday low of 25187.65
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 266.45,+5.09%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 935.15,+2.20%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 259.75,+2.10%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3448.65,+1.60%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12773.10,+1.44%), among others.
