Indices trade flat; PSU Bank stocks shine

The benchmark indices were trading with meagre gains in Tuesday's noon deals. In the broader markets, Nifty MidCap index erased losses to trade 0.24 per cent higher. The Nifty SmallCap index, too, rose 0.48 per cent.



Indian rupee is trading lower at 90.76 per dollar against previous close of 90.65.



Among key stocks, share price of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (PV) moved higher by 1 per cent to ₹382 on the BSE in Tuesday’s intra-day trade. Shares of ITC Ltd jumped more than 3 per cent on Tuesday after reports said the company has announced a hike in cigarette prices.



At 14:21 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83397.28 up by 120.13 points or by 0.14 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25710.5 up by 27.75 points or by 0.11 %.



The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 83598 and intraday low of 82987.43 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25764.4 and intraday low of 25570.30.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 325.80,+2.47%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1397.95,+2.32%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 447.20,+2.09%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1570.15,+1.85%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4273.20,+1.69%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 28.04,-4.98%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 280.70,-1.87%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 202.40,-1.63%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4178.40,-1.20%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1422.70,-0.95%), among others.



Among the sectors FMCG index was at 19018.69 up by 174.54 points or by 0.93%. Cupid Ltd. (Rs. 430.00,+6.00%), KRBL Ltd. (Rs. 370.80,+4.20%), HMA Agro Industries Ltd. (Rs. 27.56,+3.77%), AVT Natural Products Ltd. (Rs. 67.50,+2.54%), Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. (Rs. 2065.10,+2.47%),.



Whereas, Realty index was at 6482.28 down by -11.81 points or by -0.18%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1552.85,-0.73%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 639.55,-0.66%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 743.55,-0.54%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1765.65,-0.47%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1094.95,-0.23%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4438 , shares advanced were 2440 while 1795 shares declined and 203 were unchanged.
