Indian equities opened flat on Wednesday stalling their two-day gaining streak. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index rose 0.02 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap index added 0.11 per cent.
Overseas, Asian stock markets are trading mostly higher on Wednesday, following the broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Australian shares are trading modestly higher on Wednesday, extending the gains in the previous three sessions.
Meanwhile, Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 90.65 per dollar on Wednesday versus Tuesday's close of 90.68.
On the corporate front, Torrent Power was quoting at Rs 1,489.60, up Rs 4.65, or 0.31 percent. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 1,491 and an intraday low of Rs 1,475.05.
At 9:34 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83458.67 up by 7.71 points or by 0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25704.5 down by -20.9 points or by -0.08 %.
