Indices edge lower; metals shine

Indian benchmarks continued its choppy trade during the late morning deals amid mixed global cues. Broader indices were marginally higher, while India VIX eased over 2 percent, indicating softer volatility despite the benchmark decline.



Meanwhile, Aurionpro Solutions shares jumped 5.5 per cent on BSE, logging an intra-day high at ₹985.55 per share. Shares of Blue Cloud Softech rose over 6 per cent on Wednesday.



Among key stocks, shares of Unicommerce Esolutions saw a strong demand in the markets on Wednesday, extending its winning streak into a second straight session.



At 11:34 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83402.05 down by -48.91 points or by -0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25686.55 down by -38.85 points or by -0.15 %.



In the volatile trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 83603.56 and intraday low of 83163.62 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25759.75 and intraday low of 25645.15.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 29.44,+4.99%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 208.85,+2.83%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 329.85,+1.40%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2062.20,+0.86%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1019.65,+0.57%), among others.



Whereas, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1485.70,-2.52%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1361.60,-2.13%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 275.65,-2.11%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1457.45,-1.70%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2675.75,-1.53%), among others.



Among the sectors, Metal index was at 39467.09 up by 424.74 points or by 1.09%. Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 763.60,+3.11%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 208.85,+2.83%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 159.80,+1.56%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1224.00,+1.14%), APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 2250.60,+1.12%),.



On the flip side, BSETECk index was at 16562.18 down by -207.94 points or by -1.24%. LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 5017.60,-2.87%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5473.50,-2.73%), MphasiS Ltd. (Rs. 2402.55,-2.59%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1485.70,-2.52%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 858.00,-2.32%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4206 , shares advanced were 2149 while 1857 shares declined and 200 were unchanged.
