Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty trading flat; Godfrey Phillips Zooms 11%

Indian benchmarks continued to trade flat during the noon trading session amid mixed global cues. In the broader markets, Nifty MidCap 100 was flat with a negative bias, while SmallCap was up 0.18 per cent.



Overseas, Asian stocks rose in thin holiday trading and US equity-index futures edged higher as the recent selling pressure tied to artificial intelligence appeared to stabilize. European stocks are seen opening broadly higher on Wednesday.



Meanwhile, Ratnamani Metals and Tubes was quoting at Rs 2,505.35, up Rs 353.50, or 16.43 percent. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 2,525.00 and an intraday low of Rs 2,159.05. Hexaware Technologies slumped 4.4 percent after launching an open version of RapidX.



At 12:27 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83383.41 down by -67.55 points or by -0.08 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25709.85 down by -15.55 points or by -0.06 %.



The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 83603.56 and intraday low of 83163.62 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25759.75 and intraday low of 25645.15.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 29.44,+4.99%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 209.15,+2.98%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 331.00,+1.75%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1373.50,+1.21%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1729.00,+0.68%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 275.25,-2.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1492.00,-2.11%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1370.80,-1.47%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1464.05,-1.25%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1549.95,-1.06%), among others.



Among the sectors, CGS index was at 69956.49 up by 472.65 points or by 0.68%. Apar Industries Ltd. (Rs. 10137.90,+6.21%), Elgi Equipments Ltd. (Rs. 542.00,+4.92%), Cummins India Ltd. (Rs. 4755.35,+3.43%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 3742.85,+2.58%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 705.45,+2.23%),.



On the flip side, IT index was at 31541.24 down by -439.04 points or by -1.37%. InfoBeans Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 899.75,-2.77%), Birlasoft Ltd. (Rs. 374.90,-2.74%), Newgen Software Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 515.60,-2.68%), Affle 3I Ltd. (Rs. 1520.40,-2.57%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 5034.70,-2.54%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4313 , shares advanced were 2165 while 1958 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.
