The Indian equities opened lower on Friday, weighed by rising oil prices amid escalating Iran-US tensions. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap gained 0.1 per cent, but the Nifty SmallCap index slipped 0.09 per cent.
Overseas, Asian markets were broadly lower this morning, with South Korea's Kospi average bucking the weak trend.
On the corporate front, Gaudium IVF and Women's Health’s initial public offer will open for subscription on Friday. The ₹165-crore book build issue will close for subscription on February 24.
At 9:55 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82597.7 up by 99.56 points or by 0.12 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25482.3 up by 27.95 points or by 0.11 %.
