The benchmark indices bounced back on Friday after falling sharply in the previous session on rising geopolitical tensions and uncertainty over the Federal Reserve's rate path. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap 100 ended 0.48 per cent higher, while Nifty Smallcap was down 0.11 per cent.
Overseas, Asian markets ended mostly lower on Friday, though South Korean equity benchmark rose to a record amid expectations that upcoming investor-friendly measures will boost shareholder returns and lift market valuations.
Whereas European stocks traded mostly higher on Friday and were set for weekly gains on the back of strong corporate earnings and easing AI concerns.
Meanwhile, Gold edged above $5,000 an ounce on Friday as rising U.S.-Iran tensions fueled safe-haven demand for the precious metal.
On the corporate front, shares of KEI Industries hit a 52-week high of ₹4,742.95, surging 4 per cent on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day. RPP Infra Projects shares added 6% on receiving work order of Rs 205 crore.
The 30-share benchmark index closed trading at 82814.71 up by 316.57 points or by 0.38 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25571.25 up by 116.9 points or by 0.46 %.
During the day’s trade, Sensex touched intraday high of 83132.08 and intraday low of 82206.21 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25663.55 and intraday low of 25379.75.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 373.05,+2.73%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4380.25,+2.37%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2315.00,+1.56%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1029.15,+1.47%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 298.90,+1.44%), among others.
Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 27.74,-3.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1455.00,-1.75%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1352.75,-1.23%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 268.95,-1.10%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1437.05,-0.92%), among others were the losers.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4525 , shares advanced were 2020 while 2321 shares declined and 184 were unchanged.
