Overseas, European stocks are seen opening broadly lower on Thursday despite strong earnings and guidance from chipmaker Nvidia. Asian stocks were broadly higher, with South Korea's Kospi hitting another record as chip stocks surged on Nvidia guidance and the Bank of Korea lifted its growth forecast after holding rates steady, as widely expected.
On the corporate front, KSB shares jumped 10.5 per cent in trade, logging an intra-day high at ₹794.1 per share. Home First Finance share price dropped over 6 per cent in Thursday’s session and snapped a four-day winning streak following two large trades.
Meanwhile Xtglobal Infotech share price hit 20 per cent upper circuit on Thursday as the company's unit won an artificial intelligence-enabled project from the US state transportation agency.
At 12:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82117.08 down by -158.99 points or by -0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25432.4 down by -50.1 points or by -0.2 %.
