Post Session: Indices end on a flat note; Nifty ends below 25,500

The benchmark indices ended on flat note with Nifty slipped below 25,500. In the broader market, The Nifty MidCap ended 0.66 per cent higher, and the Nifty SmallCap index ended 0.01 per cent down.



Among other key stocks, Astra Microwave Products jumped more than 4 percent, Data Patterns surged 5.6 percent and Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing added 1.8 percent.



On the other hand, Healthcare stocks witnessed selective buying, with Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy's Laboratories rising over 1 percent each.



On the global front, Asian stocks advanced on Thursday as Nvidia's earnings results quelled fears over massive AI spending and AI-driven disruption. Whereas European stocks were mixed in lackluster trade on Thursday as uncertainty over U.S. trade policy and geopolitical risks offset Nvidia's strong earnings.



In commodities, Oil prices hovered near seven-month highs on Thursday as the third round of nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran kicked off in Geneva against a backdrop of continued mistrust.



The 30-share benchmark ended at 82248.61 down by -27.46 points or by -0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25496.55 up by 14.05 points or by 0.06 %.



During the day’s trade, Sensex touched intraday high of 82579.16 and intraday low of 81970.47 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25572.95 and intraday low of 25400.95.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 449.00,+2.21%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1550.60,+1.45%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1787.50,+1.34%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15214.00,+1.02%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1928.50,+0.78%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3865.00,-1.61%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 246.40,-1.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 303.50,-1.20%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 898.85,-0.98%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2395.95,-0.82%), among others.



Among sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 29602.43 up by 302.06 points or by 1.03%. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 186.50,+1.91%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 172.10,+1.89%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 444.10,+1.69%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 317.65,+1.26%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 385.40,+1.15%),.



On the flip side, CDS index was at 59205.77 down by -93.67 points or by -0.16%. Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 10118.75,-2.65%), Amber Enterprises India Ltd. (Rs. 7957.15,-1.11%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2395.95,-0.82%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1410.40,-0.47%), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 262.45,-0.28%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4523 , shares advanced were 2226 while 2123 shares declined and 174 were unchanged.
