Mid-Session: Sensex marginally up, Nifty below 23,400

The Indian benchmark indices erased gains and were trading near day's low as Infosys, HDFC Bank shares weighed.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75583.88 up by 81.03 points or by 0.11 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23385.2 down by -23.6 points or by -0.1 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76014.31 and intraday low of 75324.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23577.55 and intraday low of 23346.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 232.10,+4.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3102.75,+2.21%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 190.85,+1.98%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1813.90,+1.40%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1350.00,+0.89%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 861.60,-1.97%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1051.40,-1.42%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1232.00,-1.41%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1354.20,-1.33%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2150.10,-1.12%), among others.



Metal index was at 37897.84 up by 495.5 points or by 1.32%. National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 389.35,+4.72%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 150.35,+3.80%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 190.85,+1.98%), APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 1924.90,+1.71%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 542.40,+1.62%),.



IT index was at 27815.36 down by -270.74 points or by -0.96%. Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4353 , shares advanced were 2209 while 1959 shares declined and 186 were unchanged.
