Stock markets tumble on boiling crude oil prices, weak global trends

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined sharply on Thursday, snapping a three-day rally, as a surge in crude oil prices and weak global cues weighed on market sentiment.

Analysts added that continued foreign institutional outflows further pressured the markets, contributing to the overall weakness.



At 10:36 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75053.81 down by -1650.32 points or by -2.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23217 down by -560.8 points or by -2.36 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75354.18 and intraday low of 74685.52 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23378.7 and intraday low of 23180.95



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 299.95,+0.40%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1411.00,+0.18%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 379.00,+0.13%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 803.80,-4.64%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 231.95,-4.39%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 848.70,-3.52%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3481.95,-3.42%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4226.00,-3.08%), among others.



Power index was at 6941.24 up by -31.78 points or by -0.46%. Tata Power Company Ltd. (Rs. 402.30,+0.42%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 299.95,+0.40%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 3822.10,+0.19%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 379.00,+0.13%),.



Realty index was at 5510.23 down by -173.13 points or by -3.05%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1577.10,-3.99%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 661.05,-3.66%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 826.35,-3.21%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1278.60,-3.16%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 544.90,-3.13%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3917 , shares advanced were 1009 while 2728 shares declined and 180 were unchanged.
