Sensex plunges 2271 points; Eternal, Bajaj Finance top losers

Indian benchmark indices were trading sharply lower tracking losses in global equities as the fresh escalation in the US-Iran conflict pushed oil prices higher.



At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74426.32 down by -2277.81 points or by -2.97 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23100.65 down by -677.15 points or by -2.85 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75354.18 and intraday low of 74369.35 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23378.7 and intraday low of 23087.95



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 228.60,-5.77%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 832.15,-5.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3049.30,-5.14%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3431.25,-4.83%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 803.00,-4.74%), among others.



Power index was at 6873.02 up by -100 points or by -1.43%..

Auto index was at 54313.25 down by -2326.07 points or by -4.11%. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3049.30,-5.14%), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd. (Rs. 111.70,-5.14%), Ashok Leyland Ltd. (Rs. 169.60,-5.07%), Bharat Forge Ltd. (Rs. 1712.80,-4.99%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 309.10,-4.76%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4538 , shares advanced were 1040 while 3314 shares declined and 184 were unchanged.
