Stock markets firm after sharp fall in previous session

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Friday after facing massive drubbing in the previous session, driven by mild cooling in crude oil prices.



At 10:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75188.21 up by 980.97 points or by 1.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23286.55 up by 284.4 points or by 1.24 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75213.28 and intraday low of 74535.26 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23319.7 and intraday low of 23109.9



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 198.55,+4.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1390.00,+3.75%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1428.60,+3.12%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 236.00,+3.10%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1351.55,+3.07%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 783.30,-2.05%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 823.10,-1.07%), among others.



Metal index was at 38211.59 up by 1025.97 points or by 2.76%. JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1181.00,+4.34%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 198.55,+4.20%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 157.85,+3.75%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1180.10,+3.70%), APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 1995.40,+3.38%),.

Realty index was at 5533.91 down by 65.92 points or by 1.21%. Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1255.50,-1.10%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1561.85,-0.71%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4106 , shares advanced were 2978 while 949 shares declined and 179 were unchanged.
