Post-Session: Sensex settles off day's high; Nifty ends below 22700

The Indian equity benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex pared most of their gains from the day’s high, as early optimism over a potential de-escalation in the US-Iran conflict faded in the latter half of the session.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 73134.32 up by 1186.77 points or by 1.65 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22679.4 up by 348 points or by 1.56 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73964.58 and intraday low of 72971.68 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22941.3 and intraday low of 22618.6





The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3516.75,+6.74%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4180.90,+6.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1385.20,+5.47%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 418.80,+4.54%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1017.90,+3.89%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1728.45,-1.64%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 364.85,-1.64%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 292.85,-1.13%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 10713.40,-0.29%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1782.00,-0.13%), among others.



CGS index was at 66360.15 up by 2116.77 points or by 3.29%. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (Rs. 2317.25,+12.26%), Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (Rs. 1338.80,+12.12%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1204.85,+9.84%), Inox Wind Ltd. (Rs. 80.44,+6.66%), Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd. (Rs. 764.80,+5.91%),.



HCS index was at 41684.34 down by -94.04 points or by -0.23%. Acutaas Chemicals Ltd. (Rs. 2317.40,-9.41%), Ipca Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 1510.95,-5.74%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4693 , shares advanced were 3998 while 570 shares declined and 125 were unchanged.
