Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty end higher as oil eases; IT stocks lead recovery

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Tuesday, supported by easing crude oil prices and a positive trend in global markets, which improved investor sentiment. Gains in IT stocks further helped the indices recover from early session losses.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 74616.58 up by 509.73 points or by 0.69 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23123.65 up by 155.4 points or by 0.68 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74686.32 and intraday low of 73282.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23153.85 and intraday low of 22719.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1441.40,+2.77%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2539.85,+2.68%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1340.15,+2.60%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1830.55,+2.13%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1722.50,+1.67%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4271.70,-0.87%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1380.85,-0.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3006.60,-0.50%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4231.30,-0.31%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3823.40,-0.27%), among others.
