Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged on Wednesday following a sharp rally in global peers and a significant drop in crude oil prices after the US and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank on Wednesday expectedly kept interest rates unchanged amid hopes of a global recovery.
At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77282.36 up by 2665.78 points or by 3.57 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23892.75 up by 769.1 points or by 3.33 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 77456.11 and intraday low of 77042.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23961.25 and intraday low of 23828.5
