Mid-Session: Sensex up 2800 pts, Nifty above 23900

The Nifty50 reclaimed the 24,000 mark, while the Sensex touched its intraday high on Wednesday, supported by a sharp decline in crude oil prices following the US-Iran ceasefire.



Investor sentiment remained buoyant amid easing geopolitical tensions, with falling oil prices boosting risk appetite across markets. At the same time, traders closely evaluated the outcome of the Reserve Bank of India monetary policy meeting for further cues on interest rates and economic outlook.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77477.72 up by 2861.14 points or by 3.83 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23946.35 up by 822.7 points or by 3.56 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77605.4 and intraday low of 77042.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24014 and intraday low of 23828.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4678.00,+9.60%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3996.80,+7.35%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 917.00,+7.21%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 13715.00,+7.15%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11711.00,+7.15%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1453.00,-1.38%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1711.15,-0.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 294.95,-0.17%), among others.

Realty index was at 5802.96 up by 374.99 points or by 6.91%. Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1330.90,+8.86%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1721.65,+7.95%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 774.25,+7.79%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 570.05,+6.80%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1704.80,+6.18%),.



_IT index was at 30333.16 down by 175.13 points or by 0.58%. Nintec Systems Ltd. (Rs. 416.55,-3.40%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1451.95,-1.45%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5331.00,-1.02%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 203.50,-0.59%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 7180.05,-0.16%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4569 , shares advanced were 3926 while 487 shares declined and 156 were unchanged.
