Mid-Session: Sensex rises 758 points; Realty, Auto stocks support

The Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex moved higher, led by gains in realty, banking, and financial stocks, while investors continued to monitor developments surrounding US-Iran tensions.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77389.71 up by 758.06 points or by 0.99 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24009.35 up by 234.25 points or by 0.99 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 77501.4 and intraday low of 76851.16 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24036.2 and intraday low of 23856.35



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2361.30,+4.05%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1316.10,+2.76%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3252.40,+2.69%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1351.10,+2.46%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3940.05,+2.35%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1645.50,-4.18%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1289.80,-3.13%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2511.30,-2.95%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1431.30,-2.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1432.00,-2.02%), among others.



Realty index was at 5913.89 up by 140.26 points or by 2.43%. Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 836.10,+5.93%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1765.60,+3.44%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 723.70,+3.14%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1700.15,+2.87%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 488.35,+2.39%),.

IT index was at 29768.25 down by -651.17 points or by -2.14%. Cigniti Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1203.55,-3.79%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1218.80,-3.60%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1289.80,-3.13%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2511.30,-2.95%), R Systems International Ltd. (Rs. 262.30,-2.45%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4475 , shares advanced were 3393 while 882 shares declined and 200 were unchanged.
