The Indian equities were fluctuating between gains on losses in Tuesday's early deals. Broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices. The Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.36 per cent and 0.81 per cent higher, respectively.
Overseas, Asian stock markets are trading mostly lower on Tuesday, following the mixed cues from Wall Street on Monday, as traders remain cautious amid the uncertainty about the opening of the Strait of Hormuz even as crude oil prices keep soaring.
On the corporate front, SBI Cards and Payment Services shares slipped 2.8 per cent in trade on BSE, logging an intra-day low at ₹651.65 per share.
Meanwhile, the rupee opened 18 paise lower against the US dollar at 94.37 against Monday's close of 94.19 a dollar.
At 9:34 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77270.17 down by -33.46 points or by -0.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24049.9 down by -42.8 points or by -0.18 %.
