Sensex slips 319 pts; bank, realty stocks weigh

Indian benchmark indices started the day on subdued note as investor sentiment remained cautious amid growing concerns over the US-Iran conflict and its potential impact on global markets.



At 9:36 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74881.33 down by -319.52 points or by -0.42 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23458.7 down by -159.3 points or by -0.67 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74906.11 and intraday low of 74529.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23469.9 and intraday low of 23397.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1203.40,+0.54%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3935.00,+0.43%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2337.00,+0.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1470.50,+0.25%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1324.50,+0.17%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 411.40,-2.78%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 204.05,-2.51%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 243.95,-1.25%), State Bank of India (Rs. 936.85,-1.23%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11236.70,-1.16%), among others.



IT index was at 28506.89 up by 131.99 points or by 0.47%. Happiest Minds Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 375.50,+4.22%), Nintec Systems Ltd. (Rs. 624.90,+2.79%), L&T Technology Services Ltd. (Rs. 3642.00,+2.57%), ASM Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 3096.90,+2.47%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1442.00,+2.14%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3330 , shares advanced were 1258 while 1893 shares declined and 179 were unchanged.
