Sensex gains 139 pts, Nifty above 23,650

Benchmark indices Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex moved higher during the second half of Wednesday’s trading session, supported by gains in heavyweight stocks such as Hindalco Industries, Reliance Industries, and Bajaj Auto.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75340.71 up by 139.86 points or by 0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23674.1 up by 56.1 points or by 0.24 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75385.06 and intraday low of 74529.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23678.95 and intraday low of 23397.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1358.20,+2.71%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1775.70,+1.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3136.00,+1.46%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1253.20,+1.18%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4272.15,+0.96%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 412.90,-2.42%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1441.45,-1.73%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 243.30,-1.52%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 206.20,-1.48%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 307.35,-0.95%), among others.



Power index was at 8059.92 up by 125.65 points or by 1.58%. Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 3445.70,+8.90%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 4674.95,+6.61%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 35190.05,+5.43%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 3698.25,+4.24%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 6566.55,+3.80%),.



FMCG index was at 18643.5 down by -110.08 points or by -0.59%. KSE Ltd. (Rs. 192.20,-6.61%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (Rs. 530.75,-3.56%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (Rs. 469.00,-3.28%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (Rs. 178.55,-3.15%), GRM Overseas Ltd. (Rs. 163.70,-3.02%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4472 , shares advanced were 2059 while 2171 shares declined and 242 were unchanged.
