Post-Session: Sensex slips 142 pts, Nifty ends at 23,907

The Nifty50 and Sensex ended lower on Wednesday as weakness in banking and financial stocks weighed on market sentiment, while investors remained cautious amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran negotiations.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 75867.8 down by -141.9 points or by -0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23907.15 down by -6.55 points or by -0.03 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76224.68 and intraday low of 75748.21 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23983.2 and intraday low of 23858.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 300.15,+2.56%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 256.55,+2.54%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 397.80,+2.14%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 214.75,+2.04%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4568.00,+1.90%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 292.00,-3.25%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 758.50,-2.63%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1159.15,-0.71%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2197.85,-0.53%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1350.00,-0.51%), among others.



Power index was at 8497.08 up by 268.91 points or by 3.27%. Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 3772.95,+8.95%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 935.10,+6.36%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 7217.30,+6.04%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 57.67,+5.64%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 3880.55,+5.60%),.



Bankex index was at 61796.59 down by -299.63 points or by -0.48%. HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 758.50,-2.63%), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1005.00,-0.74%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1272.80,-0.50%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 289.00,-0.38%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 22.76,-0.31%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4644 , shares advanced were 2368 while 2067 shares declined and 209 were unchanged.
