Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty in red; IndiGo slips ahead of earnings

Indian equities pared all the early gains and slipped in red on Friday amid weakness in auto, metals and energy counters.

At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75729.97 down by -137.83 points or by -0.18 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23870.5 down by -36.65 points or by -0.15 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76220.02 and intraday low of 75681.79 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24002.8 and intraday low of 23865.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1203.35,+3.81%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1484.50,+2.05%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1182.60,+1.50%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4102.80,+1.41%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4290.00,+0.98%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4451.00,-2.56%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 294.50,-1.88%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 392.25,-1.48%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1826.20,-1.35%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 211.85,-1.35%), among others.



IT index was at 28656.39 up by 610.45 points or by 2.18%. Network People Services Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1173.05,+13.93%), Netweb Technologies India Ltd. (Rs. 4525.00,+11.18%), Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 272.20,+10.20%), MosChip Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 221.65,+6.54%), Sasken Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 2276.00,+5.26%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 27198.22 down by -298.99 points or by -1.09%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 267.60,-2.32%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 166.30,-1.60%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1336.00,-1.04%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 483.05,-1.00%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 142.70,-0.80%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4457 , shares advanced were 2002 while 2190 shares declined and 265 were unchanged.
