Indian benchmark indices are likely to open on a positive note on September 30, tracking GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 22,799 in early trade.

The domestic equity market ended lower for the second consecutive session on September 29, with the Nifty settling around the 22,700 mark amid volatility and F&O expiry.

On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 72529.07 down by -242.65 points or by -0.33 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22716.2 down by -64.05 points or by -0.28 %.

On the global front, Asia-Pacific markets rose as oil prices pared gains and as technology shares rose. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.29 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 settled 0.26 per cent and 0.17 per cent lower, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.09 per cent down.

The FIIs on 29/09/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 10186.44 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 606.39 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 15154.02 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 3379.70 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -4967.58 Crore and Rs. -2773.31
