Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open on a positive note, supported by upbeat global signals. GIFT Nifty is hovering around the 24,400 mark, hinting at a firm start for the markets.
In the previous session, equities managed to post a second straight day of gains but closed almost unchanged after a volatile trade. Market mood stayed cautious as lingering uncertainty over the Iran–US ceasefire continued to influence sentiment.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 78520.3 up by 26.76 points or by 0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24364.85 up by 11.3 points or by 0.05 %.
On the result front, 360 One Wam, Central Mining Planning & Design Institute, Cyient DLM, DB International Stock Brokers, HCLTech, Nestle India, Persistent Systems, Sunteck Realty, Transformers & Rectifiers, Tata Elxsi, Tata Investment Corporation will report their March quarter (Q4FY26) results today.
On the global front, Most markets in the Asia-Pacific region advanced on Tuesday morning, with the Kospi leading gains. The index was up 1.70 per cent. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were trading 1.11 per cent and 0.23 per cent higher, respectively.
Bucking the trend, Australia’s S&P ASX 200 was 0.14 per cent down.
Brent crude’s April contract was trading 0.47 per cent down at $95.03 per barrel as traders parsed mixed messages from the US and Iran.

On NSE, total number of shares traded was 535.00 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 129979.03 Crore. On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 129744 with a total turnover of Rs. 21098.18 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 1414649 with a total turnover of Rs. 92529.44 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 122369667 with a total turnover of Rs. 19483822.89 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 7306691 with a total turnover of Rs. 500045.65 Crore
The FIIs on 20/04/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 17308.16 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 120.15 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 15239.32 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 632.28 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 2068.84 Crore and Rs. -512.13
