MARKET COMMENTARY

Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a flat-to-positive note on June 30, supported by firm cues from GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 23,991.50 in early trade.

In the previous session, domestic equities ended their two-day winning streak, with the Nifty closing near the day's low amid broad-based selling across sectors, reflecting cautious investor sentiment ahead of the new trading session.

On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 76728.37 down by -372.1 points or by -0.48 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23946.25 down by -109.75 points or by -0.46 %.

On the global front, most Asian markets reversed early gains as traders focused on the renewed tension between the US and Iran. The Hang Seng and the Kospi were trading 0.42 per cent and 0.13 per cent down, respectively.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average settled 0.59 per cent higher at a record closing high of 52,182.72. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite ended 1.18 per cent and 2.07 per cent higher, respectively.

Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – Tata Steel Ltd. 62549132.00, NTPC Ltd. 49895302.00, HDFC Bank Ltd. 46695977.00, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. 38227413.00, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. 37210245.00, On NSE, total number of shares traded was 628.95 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 183491.87 Crore.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 235681 with a total turnover of Rs. 38175.97 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 5526930 with a total turnover of Rs. 365329.03 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 166605765 with a total turnover of Rs. 26469324.66 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 12499762 with a total turnover of Rs. 824409.52 Crore.

The FIIs on 29/06/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 19960.98 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 4267.56 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 18394.58 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 588.95 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 1566.40 Crore and Rs. 3678.61
