Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a weak note on August 11, in line with the GIFT Nifty, which was trading marginally lower at around 24,621 in early trade.

On August 10, the Sensex and Nifty ended largely unchanged after a highly volatile trading session. The indices struggled to hold on to their intraday gains and moved between positive and negative territory as cautious investor sentiment prevailed.

On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 78542.44 up by 43.27 points or by 0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24583.8 up by 13.15 points or by 0.05 %.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading higher as investors assessed the situation in West Asia and overnight developments on Wall Street. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.42 per cent, while South Korea's Kospi rose 0.32 per cent.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 settled 0.11 per cent and 0.06 per cent down, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.32 per cent lower.

The FIIs on 10/08/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 13555.29 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 1144.87 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 12534.56 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 390.66 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 1020.73 Crore and Rs. 754.21
